Whenever you get tempted to think, Why pray, God’s probably not listening or just too busy anyway…think again.
“Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance,
the whole earth as your possession.” Psalm 2:8 (NLT)
He wants us to ask Him for whatever we need. Just picture Him standing in front of you with His arms stretched out while saying, “If you will just ask me, my child. I really want to help you! Just ask!”
More often the problem is not that God is too busy: it’s we who are too busy. We try to handle everything all by ourselves. I challenge you to ask God to help you with that problem you’re trying to fix on your own. Be specific.
For example, don’t just pray for His help to make you a better person. Pray for His help to get you up a little extra early tomorrow morning so you can spend the first part of your day with Him. In fact, take action and make a commitment today to go to bed a little earlier so you can spend at least 15 minutes every morning with God. He is waiting for you to go to Him with all your needs. Are you ready to ask?
