Help for when you’re facing something major in your life
What have you got on your plate this week? I don’t know about you but I’ve got a full plate and feeling a little overwhelmed with doubt, fear, and worry! Psalm 108:13 came to the rescue this morning during my prayer time…
“With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.”
Psalm 108:13 (NLT)
Don’t act surprised. I may be a Christian author and a ministry leader but we’re not exempt from the same exact “foes” everyone else faces every day. Can I just be real for a minute. If someone tells you they never worry about anything, they’re either living in fantasy land or lying to you.
I face all the same doubts and fears you face. Right now, my husband and I are facing a very major change in our lives. We are planning to move to Missouri from California. I’ve lived in California for almost 30 years and if I’m being totally honest… I’M SCARED TO DEATH!
Talk about dealing with fear, doubt, worry… I’m constantly getting berated by these three “foes” on a daily basis! I’m constantly in need of encouragement! I’m here to tell you that for me, the only place I have been able to find it is reading God’s word and spending time with others who do the same.
Psalm 108:13 reminds us that with HIS help we will do mighty things, for HE will trample down our foes.
Alone I am defenseless against my three “foes” that wait anxiously to tear me down every chance they get. The one day that I don’t have time to have my prayer time with God in the morning, they are ready to pounce.
What “foes” are you trying to battle this week? Whatever they are, know that God is waiting to help you! He wants to trample down your foes! Keep Psalm 108:13 nearby when your foes start to circle.
Also, notice that it says; “…with His help, we will do might things….” Share what you’re facing with someone else who can offer encouragement. If you have something big you’re trying to tackle, don’t try to do it all by yourself! Get others involved!
At a minimum, share it with me so I can be praying for you! When you think of it, pray for me too, please! We need to share more with each other! We’re all in this “life boat” together! AMEN????
