A Promise From Psalms When You Feel Unsatisfied With Life
Feeling unsatisfied with your life?
“For he satisfies the thirsty and he fills the hungry with good things.”
Psalm 107:9 NLT
Not only will God rescue you from your distress, he also promises to satisfy the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
I’ve tried so many different things in my life. It wasn’t until I started leading in ministry at my church that I discovered just how much I enjoyed teaching. Then when I started writing devotionals for the gals in my group, I realized I finally found my “thing”! You know, it’s that thing you would do even if you never got paid for it.
It’s now my passion and goal to figure out a way to write and teach full time for the rest of my life. My favorite two days every week are Thursdays and Fridays because I get to teach at the support group I lead at my church and I also get to write devotionals… like this one.
The more I write, the more I enjoy it and the more I feel it is what God has called me to do. It is totally corny to say but I really do feel God’s presence when I write. It brings me amazing fulfillment.
So, what are you doing with your life? Is what you’re doing giving you any fulfillment? If not, I suggest you call on God and ask what his purpose is for your life.
When I buy something and go to put it together, I always look at the manual to see how to do it. Can’t say the same for my husband… But that’s another story. Perhaps for another devotional. LOL.
Anyway, my point is that if I just paid a lot of money for something, I better follow the instructions in the owner’s manual on how to put it together and use it. Makes sense, right?
You need to do the same with your life. If you’re feeling unfulfilled in life, perhaps you should check with your owner and His manual —God and the Bible. God promises in Psalm 107:9 to satisfy the thirsty and fill the hungry with good things.
Are you thirsty for more meaning? Are you hungry for a more fulfilling career? Call on God today. Stop trying to figure it all out on your own. That’s just plain stupid. Just saying…
There is a “thing” He has shaped you to do with your life. If you’re hungry enough, God will help you find it!
Lord, Thank you for your amazing promise in Psalm 107:9 to satisfy the thirsty and fill the hungry with good things. I am so hungry for (fill in the blank). I come to you this morning and ask for you to fill me with wisdom and insight. I want to find that “thing” you’ve called me to do in my life. Open my eyes today. Help me see your purpose for my life more clearly. Help me to see the special gifts and abilities you’ve given me and how I can use them to fulfill your calling. Do not let me waste my life, Lord. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
