What to Do When You Feel Lost in Life – a Promise From Psalms

wandering-about-in-life-quote

Are you feeling lost or just like you’re wandering about and unsure of what is around the next corner in your life? Or, maybe you’re feeling parched and hungry for more out of life.

“Some wandered in the wilderness, lost and homeless. Hungry and thirsty, they nearly died. “Lord help!” they cried in their trouble, and he rescued them from their distress.”

Psalm 107:4-6 NLT

Maybe you’ve recently had a career or a relationship fall apart and you’re wondering where to go from here. God promises that if you call out to him in your trouble, he will rescue you from your distress.

No matter how far or how long you’ve been wandering, or how bad things may seem to you right now, it’s never too late to ask for God’s help. Call on him and he will rescue you.

My marriage hit a breaking point at about year fifteen. Had we not made some drastic changes, it would have surely ended in divorce. I remember feeling very lost, not knowing what was going to happen. I cried out to God a lot during that time in my life. I mean… like daily!

I don’t know if you’re feeling lost in your career or maybe it’s a relationship that’s starving to death and if something doesn’t change very soon it will die like mine almost did, but I do know that God is waiting for you to cry out to him.

Whatever it is you’re going through, go to God today. Don’t put it off any longer! Call out to the Lord for help and he will rescue you from your distress!

But guess what… that’s not all He will do. There’s a bonus but you’ll have to wait till next week for that!!

Here’s a short prayer you can pray:
Lord, Thank you for your promise to rescue me when I’m in trouble if I just call out to you. I’m wandering and lost and starving for…(fill in the blank). Please rescue me from this distress I feel from (fill in the blank). I’m going to depend on you to rescue me as you promise. Whenever I start to wander off or try to fix things on my own, remind me to call you. In Jesus’ name, I pray, AMEN.
